God’s own country

Kerala has many beautiful places to visit. I have already visited Thekkady , Ashtamudi, Poovar, Waynad, Alappy, Munnar and Kumarakom. But Munnar was one place I wanted to visit again as we were looking for relaxing place on the hill top. Our path to Munnar from Thekkady was lush green with Cardamom and Tea plantations. The cool breeze welcomed us along the way. Water flowed in thin strings in between the rocks blending with the trees and plantation around them making it truly scenic. About Munnar Munnar is 137 kms east of Cochin. Munnar in native language means 3 streams Muthirapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala which tumble down to meet at Munnar ,which later join the famous Periyar river. It is at an altitude of 5500ft among forest covered hills. It is also the second highest rainfall region in the country next to Cheerapunji. Club Mahindra – Lake View. The place where we stayed. As we entered the resort we were received by warm hospitable welcome staff of the resort. We drank the welco

It was quarter to one and I was anxious and also eager to visit the Kgudi wilderness camp. It was getting late and we had to reach their by six before the forest gates closed .We planned in such a way that we reach there by six .We never stopped at the restaurant while we had our lunch in the car when ever the car stopped at traffic signals. And at last some how we managed to reach there at five with a sigh of relief. Visit to the temple and wilderness camp In those twilight hours the visit to the biligiri ranganatha temple had an air of magic in it. Later we started off to the wilderness camp. Gulmohar, which was in its full bloom, welcomed us with its red flowers. This time I intensely felt at home when I saw the green mountains, thatched tents, log huts and the ‘Golghar ‘. As the dusk fell the multi colored sky invited us to the wild .The staff greeted us with their usual hospitality and cheerful face. As we had our relaxing cup of coffee we watched a movie ‘The leopard that changed

PATH

Path A path in everybody’s mind Beckons to destinations beyond Call it nirvana, ultimate desire or dream A path spurs us on to goals Lead us progressively One peak to another Unseen path, we feel lost Emerges the true spirit of man A way is found or built Reflective Ultimate realization that impossible made possible. -nandashree
